 Punch Baldwin
At an early age, Evangelist Lorraine “Punch” Benjamin-Baldwin was inspired by the Holy Ghost to be about the business of soul winning. In the beginning, her ministry was to spiritually electrify congregations as she sang. Then God revealed to her a higher calling; she began to do more witnessing, telling people about the power and goodness of the Lord. Punch buried herself in the word of God, expanded her prayer life, gave up her secular job and told the Lord, “I’ll go.” She began fulltime ministry in 1994, conducting revivals across the land, touching, reaching, convicting and captivating men and women with the word of God.
One of Punch’s most memorable accomplishments was to do her live recording entitled “Step Back and Let God Do It,” featuring the world renown, Rev. Milton Biggham, founder and director of the Georgia Mass Choir (Grammy Award Winners). During the year of 2002, Punch became a member of the Georgia Mass Choir and performed in a live recording with the choir. She was featured singing two selections on their album. One of the selections entitled, “Bye & Bye,” grew to be the #1 hit song on the album. “Bye & Bye” put the Georgia Mass Choir in the top 10 albums on the billboard charts. The current album, which was released on August 21, 2007, has not one, but two songs performed by Baldwin backed by the choir entitled "Holy Ghost" and "The Best of My Story."
In October of 2008, Punch was also blessed to perform on a live recording with the First Cathedral Baptist Church Mass Choir of Bloomfield, Connecticut. She is leading a song entitled "I'm Holding On" which should be released sometime in the Fall of 2009.
Punch has had the opportunity to perform on BET, the Bobby Jones Gospel Show, the Word Network, and at the New York State Fair. As a result of the hit songs that she has done with the Georgia Mass Choir, Punch has traveled throughout the United States. She also has performed on such major events as the Black Heritage Awards in Atlanta, GA, and the Gospel Music Workshops of America in Detroit, MI and Orlando, FL. She was featured most Sunday mornings on Video Gospel, leading the hit song “Bye & Bye” with the Georgia Mass Choir and can now be seen on the Word Network leading the song "Holy Ghost."
She is an ordained Minister in the Church of God by Faith, Inc. and is a member of the Church of God by Faith, Palatka, Florida under the leadership of Pastor Philip Thomas, Sr.
She is also the president and founder of PowerPak Ministries, Inc.
